A controllability approach to shape identification

چکیده
The main goal of this work is to discuss a controllability approach to the image matching/shape identification problem, an important issue in many applications, medical ones in particular. The matching problem is formulated as an approximate controllability problem involving a cost functional whose gradient is computed using an adjoint equation based methodology. The time discrete version of the image matching problem is also discussed in this work. c © 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Damage identification of structures using second-order approximation of Neumann series expansion
In this paper, a novel approach proposed for structural damage detection from limited number of sensors using extreme learning machine (ELM). As the number of sensors used to measure modal data is normally limited and usually are less than the number of DOFs in the finite element model, the model reduction approach should be used to match with incomplete measured mode shapes. The second-order a...
متن کاملThe controllability of cardiac rhythm in elderly
Introduction: Recent reports have shown that rare fluctuations in cardiac cycles are ‘forgotten’ quickly in healthy individuals and it is possible to quantify the “memory length” of a physiological time-series using an inverse statistical approach. Methods: In the present study, we assessed the effect of aging on memory length in cardiac rhythm. Results: There was a long...
متن کاملMultivariable System Identification for Integral Controllability – Computational Issues
A process model satisfies the integral controllability (IC) condition if the model can be used in a model-based controller that can be arbitrarily detuned without jeopardizing closed-loop stability. For decoupling multivariable control this requirement is equivalent to the inequality 1 ˆ Re 0 GG for the actual and estimated process steady-state gain matrices G and Ĝ . This necessitates experime...
متن کاملExperimental Hysteresis Identification and Micro-position Control of a Shape-Memory-Alloy Rod Actuator
In order to exhaustively exploit the high-level capabilities of shape memory alloys (SMAs), they must be applied in control systems applications. However, because of their hysteretic inherent, dilatory response, and nonlinear behavior, scientists are thwarted in their attempt to design controllers for actuators of such kind. The current study aims at developing a micro-position control system ...
متن کاملCritical Nodes Identification of Power Systems Based on Controllability of Complex Networks
This paper proposes a new method for assessing the vulnerability of power systems based on the controllability theories of complex networks. A novel controllability index is established, taking into consideration the full controllability of the power systems, for identifying critical nodes. The network controllability model is used to calculate the minimum number of driver nodes (ND), which can...
